Old Poems by Peter Laing

Here are poems by my Great Granduncle Peter Laing, one on the “Titanic” and one on “The Empress of Ireland”. Peter was born on 13th July 1872 in Halbeath and died of cardiac arrest 17th November 1930 in Hen’s Neb, Lassodie. Hen’s Neb where he lived was a wooden hut slightly bigger than a garage but very nice inside according to others who had seen it. It was in a clearing in the fir trees near Lassodie. He is buried in Dunfermline cemetery along with his parents James Laing and Margaret Laing nee Morrison. Peter also wrote plays and directions for silent movies.

With thanks to Evelyn Vernolini.
